Description

Please note: The crate these parts are in measures approximately 31x33x28 inches and weighs approximately 200lbs. The seller will be providing some shipping estimates to help potential buyers determine delivery costs. This post will be updated during the auction.
Update 2/25: The seller has obtained four quotes to various cities estimating the cost of delivery. Through FedEx, the maximum allowable weight is 145 pounds, and the quotes range from $176 to Colorado to $218 to Alabama. If the parts and crate weigh over 145lbs, it will be two shipments with an estimated cost of $200 to $350 depending on location. The seller is not able to weigh the crate and 200lbs is an estimate. Photos of various shipping quotes are in the Photos tab.

Per the seller, “for the last twenty years or more, my friend Ted chased the world for rare parts for a French JapAuto Endurance Racer/Cafe racer build. There was a complete bike in parts with some of the rare parts that couldn’t be found if it wasn’t for Ted. It was a complete project ready for assembly but unfortunately Ted passed away last year and most of his stuff was thrown away by his landlord.”

Iconic’s Note: If you’re not familiar with JapAuto, here’s a quick primer over on Bike-urious. And here’s an example of what Ted may have been trying to emulate:

Back to the seller: “When I found out I went to his place and this was all that was left for the JapAuto built. I don’t have the resources or means to search for all the parts again. However, what’s left could be used for an exceptional CB750 build.

“I have a NOS 38mm Marzocchi front end that is like an oversized Honda sandcast front end with steering bearings, a set of JapAuto JPX wheels by the French JPX aircraft company that were made for JapAuto, aluminum-bodied Koni shocks and a high-end supposedly Yoshimura-built CB750 motor with Yoshi Daytona cam, a beautifully ported head, lightened crank and Yoshimura aluminum rods. Which makes it 836cc.

Listing includes:
-Engine / motor
-Carburetor
-Front Forks shocks
-Front end steering tree with bearings
-Front wheel rod
-Speedo / cluster with light panel
-Headlight support
-Complete Exhaust pipe
-JPX France front and rear wheels”

This example is Engine Number: CB750E-1056399.
