Description

Additional photos are available here for your perusal.

Not many motorcycles bear a name as iconic as the Gold Wing. First released in 1974 with the original GL1000 model, the Gold Wing brought with it an innovative combination of power, comfort, and leading edge technology (for the time). With roughly 80 horsepower, 61 ft./lbs. of torque, and features such as an electric start, auxiliary power for accessories, and more luggage than a mid-sized SUV, the original GL1000 was a hit for the sport-touring market. By the turn of the decade, Honda was in full swing with the development of the Gold Wing line.

Manufactured in April of 1975, this example is VIN: GL11009230. The seller acquired this motorcycle two years ago from a private collector.

The odometer shows 59,394 miles. The seller states they planned to have an experienced Honda mechanic restore the motorcycle for them, however the mechanic fell ill and could not complete the build.

Per the seller: “The odometer and dashboard are original and reflect the bike age. However, the seller acquired a dashboard restoring kit that could bring the dashboard to a showroom state.” The seller is including this unused restoration kit in the sale.

Maintenance:
The seller states this motorcycle has received routine maintenance, and has included documents of said work.

The seller would like to note the following: “ the bike has been sitting since it was acquired in January 2022, which was the last time that the bike ran as the original owner demonstrated the bike functioning before the deal. The bike has not received any maintenance or ran ever since.

Modifications:
Painted Honda emblem.

Inside of the tank:

The sale includes two keys.

Extras:
This sale includes various extra original parts, including a seat, fenders, and rear shocks, a National Cycle touring windshield (not pictured), and the original owner’s manual.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:

Per the seller: “I had Mike (retired Honda mechanic) rebuilding the calipers and we were going to replace the water pump because we noticed a coolant leak around it. However, when we were doing an oil change, we noticed coolant was mixing with oil, which suggests a water pump failure or head gasket leak.

Currently located in Camano Island, Washington, this Honda is offered on a clean Washington ‘collector’ title. Have any Gold Wing stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
