Description

Additional photos are available here for your perusal.

Honda first introduced the XR350R in 1983 as a middleweight alternative to its small displacement dirtbikes and larger thumpers. Thanks to a diet and a new semi-double cradle chrome-moly frame, the XR350 shaved 24 pounds off the prior year’s XR250. In their review, Cycle World said, “At last. A four-stroke enduro bike that can win.”

The all-new 339cc 4-stroke engine utilized Honda’s RFVC (Radial Four Valve Combustion) chamber and two carbs to produce 22 horsepower. The engine was paired with a unusual-for-the-time six-speed transmission.

Suspension duties were handled by Showa, and the gas tank held 3.2 gallons. The XR was available in just one color option: Flash Red with yellow number plates.

This example is VIN: JH2NE0109DM000235.

There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown.

This is one of Abhi’s personal bikes – here’s the short story:
I bought this bike in the middle of 2015 because I created an event called the Beater Olympics – it was all about getting people together with $500 bikes to tackle a series of events including a slow race, drag race with a Le Mans start, relay race, and motorcycle limbo:

I wanted to make sure there were enough bikes for teams to use, so I bought this and a couple of other cheap motorcycles for friends to use. After the event, I used it for a couple of other fun events like Hell on Wheels’ Halloween Hillclimb, where I raced it wearing a Prince Aladdin costume:

After that, I took it out for one weekend ride with a Bike-urious reader where it held up admirably – I took the XR as my usual dirt ride (a KTM 450XC) needed a new top end at the time:

Unfortunately, I’m lacking the time to ride dirt nowadays so the bike has been sitting for a few years and it’s time for someone else to have their fun with it.”

Maintenance:
In preparation for the listing, we cleaned the carbs to show that it’s a runner – please note that the carbs leak from the float bowls and the lights are not connected.

Modifications:
Answer Racing exhaust.

The seat was recovered.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Metzeler tires that have aged out.
