Description

Please note: this bike is titled as a 1994, when it is actually a 1984 model.

Additional photos are available here for your perusal.

When it was released, the VF1000R was a bit of a revelation: it was Honda’s flagship, designed to showcase what the Japanese firm was capable of. It was also a huge tease to US riders, because it was initially only released in Europe only – America got the VF1000F instead, which was designed to be more of a touring bike.

The R was Honda’s first road bike to benefit from gear-driven cams.

This example is VIN: SC162000636. This motorcycle comes from a collection in South Africa; prior history is unknown.

The odometer shows 10,429 kilometers (6,480 miles).

Maintenance:
In preparation for the listing, we replaced the battery, the spark plugs, the oil and oil filter, the fuel filter, the fuel lines, the fuel pump, the air filter, the brake fluid, and the coolant. We also cleaned and synced the carbs, rebuilt the petcock, rebuilt the rear master cyliunder, and installed new Bridgestone Battlax BT46 tires with date codes of 5020 and 2222.

Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Honda is offered on a clean Oregon title. Please note: this bike is titled as a 1994, when it is actually a 1984 model. Additionally as an import, this bike lacks certain compliance and emissions stickers that the state of California would require to transfer a title.
