Description
Additional photos of this Honda MBX50 are available here for your perusal.
Introduced in 1979, the MB (on-road) and MT (off-road) small motorcycles were initially launched in Europe and South Africa. They were offered in 50cc and 80cc versions (both two-stroke) and marketed as first bikes for teenagers (in SA, a 16-year old could start on a 50cc).
The 50cc engine produced a claimed 7 horsepower and 5 pound-feet of torque.
Standard features included a speedo, tach, front disc/rear drum brakes, and Comstar wheels.
Manufactured in October of 1985, this example is VIN: AC035000329.
The odometer shows 37,196 kilometers (23,112 miles).
This came to us from a collection in South Africa. The owner restored it as a display piece so it shows quite well, but if you’re planning to ride it Daniel found the following mechanical flaws.
