Description
After Suzuki introduced the RG-Gamma series in 1983, the line grew to span displacements ranging from 250-500cc. A true race-replica for the streets, it boasted the latest and greatest in two-stroke technology. Along with an advanced aluminum box frame, it also featured Suzuki’s “Full-Floater” rear suspension and a water-cooled square four. The 397cc engine produced 59 horsepower at 9,000 rpm.
However, this bike has been heavily modified to represent the bigger brother, RG500. From the Kiwi builder of the bike, “‘The Beast’ was built from the ground up, the remaining original parts are the RG400 frame, swing arm and fuel tank. Everything else has been upgraded, modified and tweaked to be fully certified and safe (ish) for New Zealand roads.”
This example is VIN: HK31A108059. The seller purchased the bike from a private party out of New Zealand through an Iconic auction Summer 2024.
True mileage unknown. The odometer shows 259 kilometers (160 miles).
Maintenance:
In preparation for the listing, the seller had us re-wire the cylinder wires and repair the switches to correct the firing order.
