The Yamaha YSR50 was the most common of the rare 50cc sportbikes that came from Japan in the late 80s and early 90s. An instant classic, the YSR50 was always street legal and always seems to put a smile on the face of riders and spectators.
Built to look like a mini RZ500, the YSR50 also featured mini performance. The 49.3cc two-stroke engine was capable of pushing the bike up to 38 miles per hour, but companies like Team Calamari have been making stock performance numbers useless with years of aftermarket parts and performance modifications if you are so inclined.
This example is VIN: 2AL051577. We believe it to be an 1988-1990 model but cannot confirm. This came to Iconic as part of a YSR package from Japan; prior history is not known. The rest have been sold but this one is definitely a project. Please pay special attention to the condition photos, rusted tank, and notes in the service area of the listing. We have found aftermarket tanks in the past and the items we mention could be fixed but this is going to need a restoration or it may be best used as a parts bike. We already have our fill of projects right now, so we’re offering this up with no reserve to help make some space.
The odometer shows 1,301 kilometers (808 miles).
