Description

Additional photos are available here for your perusal.

Due to licensing laws, Japan saw much more competition in the 400cc sportbike market compared to the US and Europe. Kawasaki’s entry was the popular ZXR400, and compared to the competition it was more of a race replica.

The 398cc four revs up to 14,500 rpm and produces 62 horsepower in the process – somehow enough to get this bike up to 140 miles per hour. It was said to be an excellent performer that just felt a little gutless under 8,000 rpm. For more on the ZXR400, check out this review on Visordown.

This example is VIN: ZX400H009281. The seller purchased the bike in 2017 from the U.K. and states it’s a Japanese import.

During his ownership the seller has covered approximately 45 miles. The odometer shows 29,314 kilometers (18,214 miles).

Maintenance:
Per the seller, “New Petcock. Carb rebuild. Fuel line replaced. Brake caliper rebuild. Master cylinder rebuild. Fuel filter replaced. It’s a good rider and runs well.”

Modifications:
According to the seller there are no modifications.

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Dunlop Sportmax tires with date codes of 0508 and 4909.

The sale includes one key, prior Tennessee registration and bill of sale, and import paperwork. Per the seller, “The Tennessee registration and bill of sale may suffice to obtain a new title in the buyer’s home state.”
