Description
Click here for an CycleVIN Motorcycle History Report on this 1989 Suzuki GSX-R1100 Project. Additional photos are available here for your perusal.
While the GSX-R750 debuted in 1985 for most countries, the US first got it and the bigger brother 1100 in 1986. It was an instant classic – an aluminum box frame housed a 128 horsepower oil-cooled engine, and it looked the part thanks to the full bodywork. The dry weight was 433 pounds, an impressively low number for the time.
Manufactured in January of 1989, this example is VIN: JS1GN73A7K2101938, Engine #: V710102652. The seller acquired it two years ago on Craigslist from a private party in San Diego, California.
He acquired it as a project and has not ridden it. The odometer shows 10,727 miles.
The seller is a long-time client and friend of Iconic who “became overzealous with my project intentions. I have realized that I cannot focus on more than 1 or 2 at the moment and I still have 6 or 7 to still complete or let go. I have done zero maintenance and have only stored the bike since receiving it for the previous owner.”
Modifications:
Kerker exhaust.
Aftermarket bar ends.
Pod filters.
Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
There is no bodywork.
Inside of the tank:
It is riding on Michelin Macadam 100X tires that have aged out with date codes of 4800 and 3201.
The sale includes one key and the original mirrors.
Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Suzuki is offered on a clean California title. Have any GSX-R1100 stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
