In the long line of Gixxers, the ’89 “RK” model is considered by some to be the most special of them all.

The RK was also known as the RR – no matter what you called it, it was rare. Just 500 were built for homologation purposes, none of which were officially sold in the US.

Suzuki lengthened the stroke of the motor to make it easier for race teams to tune, and there were extra goodies like a magnesium cylinder head cover, Mikuni BST-40 carb, close-ratio gearbox, stronger clutch with an additional plate, aluminum fuel tank, quick disconnect fiberglass bodywork, wider wheels, lower handlebars, repositioned footpegs, thinner seat, 43mm front fork with rebound and compression adjustment, and 310mm front disc brakes.

This example is VIN: GR79C100397. The seller acquired the bike four years ago from White Knuckle Motorsports.

During his ownership, the seller has covered less than a mile. The odometer shows 1,678 kilometers (1,042 miles).

Maintenance:
The seller reports that he had Southern California Motorcycles replace the air filter, change the oil and oil filter, and service the carbs with new float bowl needles and a metering rod adjustment. Additionally, he has installed 122.5 jets.

The bike still runs rich and fouls the plugs; he recommends a carb clean with an ultrasonic bath. Additionally, he suggests switching the 40mm carburetors for a set of 36mm carburetors.

Modifications:
Yoshimura duplex exhaust system with carbon fiber silencer.

Öhlins shock.

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport tires.

The sale includes three keys.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
“Typical factory Suzuki light blistering on the lower fairing.”

The seller notes that the left mirror is not OEM.
