Description
Introduced at the end of the 80s, the RGV250 was filled with design cues from Suzuki’s 250cc Gamma Grand Prix racer. When de-restricted, it produced over 60 horsepower to motivate just 282 pounds of dry weight. Visor Down called it “The purest and most race-bred two-stroke track tool ever to make it into a showroom.”
The VJ21 (first generation RGV250) an impressive machine with its V-Twin two stroke engine, Mikuni carbs, and alloy beam frame.
The SP (Sports Production) version took it one step further with a bump in power, close-ratio gearbox, and fully adjustable suspension with a remote reservoir for the rear shock.
This example is VIN: VJ21A118362. The bike was sent to Iconic from Japan and the seller notes, “This is a nicer VJ21 SP, bought as a lot of about 5 bikes, this was was in nice shape so was not parted out.”
The odometer shows 16,015 kilometers (9,951 miles).
