The 3MA got a reverse cylinder design – the carb was in the front, and the exhaust was out of the rear of the cylinders. This in combination with revised timing bumped power up to about 60 horsepower. When restricted for the Japanese market, this bike made 45 horsepower.
Dual exhaust pipes out of the tail sections were just like what Yamaha did on the ’89 YZR250 GP race bike.

The odometer shows 3,097 kilometers (1,924 miles).
Maintenance:
In preparation for the listing, the seller had us replace the battery, service the chain, service and rebuild the forks, clean and sync the carbs, replace the air filter, replace the brake lever and pedal, wash and rebuild the front calipers, replace the front brake pads, flush the brake fluid, replace both fuel petcocks, install new rubber mirror mounts, and replace missing hardware throughout the bike. We also refinished the bodywork, vapor-honed the fork lowers, step plates, triple tree/clamp, and handlebars, and installed new Pirelli Angel GT tires with date codes of 4820 and 3021.
