Welcome to the wild world of “outlaw” drag racing, a niche of competition made popular in Thailand which is typically centered around 150cc two-strokes. One of the most popular platforms for these racers is the Kawasaki Serpico.
Made in Thailand, the Serpico was introduced in 1993 with four variants: the S, SS, SE, and SST. The SS typically featured a full fairing and cast wheels, but many of these were wildly modified in the quest for success on the drag strip.
The 148cc engine is good for a claimed 30 horsepower when stock, though tuners regularly see nearly double that number and some machines can cover the quarter-mile in 9-10 seconds.
Incredibly, these generally weigh about 300 pounds…with the riders on board! Riders typically wear minimal protection and will switch to a “superman” style riding position, operating the shift lever with their left arm to maximize aerodynamic efficenty. We highly recommend that you check out this video to see what it’s like!
This example is VIN: KG150AA16734. The seller acquired it ten years ago: “after seeing YouTube videos of this subculture I knew I had to have one in the stable. I was able to source a completely modified Serpico for drag racing done in Thailand.”
During his ownership, the owner covered approximately 100 kilometers. The odometer shows 17,181 kilometers (10,675 miles).
