Introduced in the early 90s, the Aprilia RS50 became a breakout hit in 1999 thanks to an aluminum frame (making it the first mass-produced 50cc with a die-cast aluminum frame) as well as a styling update reminiscent of Aprilia’s GP race bikes. European youths were all over it as licensing rules were relaxed for <50cc motorcycles and scooters.
The heart of the ’02 RS50 was a 49.7cc Motori-Minarelli AM6 two-stroke engine paired with a six-speed transmission. Unrestricted models are capable of 60 miles per hour, depending on the weight of the rider.
For 2002, the RS50 was available in Grigio Dust and Diablo Black, the latter of which is featured on today’s listing.
Manufactured in November of 2001, this example is VIN: ZD4PGF0062S000903.
