One of the most visually striking machines to ever come out of Aprilia, the RSV1000R Bol D’Or which was built to commemorate their participation in…the Bol D’Or, a 24 hour endurance race that occurs every spring at Le Mans. Just 200 examples were built in the distinctive purple/red livery.
Changes from the RSV1000R were solely cosmetic, meaning the Bol D’Or came well-equipped with Ohlins front forks, a slipper clutch, and Brembo calipers. You also got the wonderful V60 magnesium v-twin motor, which puts out 143 horsepower at 10,000 rpm. Please Note: please note that the seller of this bike had us pull off the Ohlins forks to use on his new bike instead.
Manufactured in April of 2007, this example is VIN: ZD4RRTR097S000700. The seller acquired it from us two years ago and was using it as a commuter. Unfortunately, a car tire came across the median on the highway and knocked him off the bike. The bike slid on the road on the right side but did not come into contact with anything else.
His insurance salvaged it, but he bought it back as he was on the fence about bringing it back to life or not. He ended up using the insurance money towards a different RSV1000R that we picked up for him, so he’s selling this to recoup some costs.
The odometer shows 17,780 miles.
Modifications:
Zero Gravity windscreen.
In the last year, the seller had us rebuild the fuel pump, replace the rear brake master cylinder pump, and install a new clutch slave cylinder. He also had Dave Moss adjust the suspension.
Crash Damage:
Damage from the crash appears to be limited to the right side bodywork and exhaust. We do not see any frame, fork, or tank damage. The steering stops are intact. We’ve tried to include photos of all visible damage in the album up top, here are some of the biggest issues:
There is other damage that may or may not be related to the crash:
The master link does not match the rest of the chain.
The OEM wheels were not on the bike during the accident. It was instead equipped with Dymag carbon fiber wheels – they did not suffer any damage during the accident so the seller had us take those off to put on his new bike and put the OEM wheels back on for this sale.
It is equipped with Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tires with 2018 date codes.
Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Aprilia is offered on a salvaged California title. Have any RSV stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the comments!
