After the polarizing style of the 999’s vertically-stacked headlights, Ducati went back to the single sided swingarm, exhaust under the taillights, and side by side eyes made famous on the 916 – this time with a modern twist.

It was well-received – Cycle World said “On the road the 1098S isn’t just an improvement, it’s a revelation.” The 1099cc Testastretta Evoluzione twin engine produced a claimed 160 horsepower and 90 lb-ft of torque at the crank, good for a 10.015 second quarter-mile time and a top speed of 173 miles per hour.

Ducati offered an upgraded S model, which featured Öhlins suspension, forged Marchesini wheels, and some extra carbon fiber bits.

This bike was sent to us as part of a trade-in – it was sent to us as a track bike with the stock bodywork included separately. We put it back into street bike form, and now we want someone else to enjoy it.

Maintenance:
In preparation for the listing, the seller had us charge the battery, adjust the steering stem, and install new Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires with date codes of 2022 and 3122.
