Description

9/26 Update: As pointed out in the comments (thank you!), it has come to our attention that this Panigale S was limited to 135hp in Japan (compared to 195hp in other markets). Additionally, the exhaust and case cover add an additional eight pounds to the stock system.

Please Note: we originally listed this bike in June but there was an issue with the mileage that we missed – the odometer was replaced by a previous owner. Thank you to a commenter for pointing this out to us, we apologize for the inconvenience. Based on the most recent Japanese vehicle inspection (Shaken), it appears that the mileage before the dash was replaced was 7,120 kilometers (4,424 miles). We do not know why the dash was replaced.

Additional photos are available here for your perusal.

In 2012, Ducati evolved their flagship superbike to create the Panigale 1199 – MCN called it a “mold-breaking motorcycle,” as it introduced the next-generation Superquadro engine and it even utilized the block as a stressed member of the frame.

The 90 degree V-Twin motor produced a claimed 195 horsepower with a much higher redline and larger service intervals thanks to the chain-operated desmo valves. What’s more, the 1199 Panigale S was packed with impressive additions like Ducati Traction Control, a Ducati Quick Shifter, some Ducati Electronic Suspension (made by Öhlins), as well as full LED lighting, a carbon fiber front fender, and a set of forged Marchesini wheels.

And the list goes on: several components were made of magnesium alloy, it utilized a wet slipper clutch, and for the first time, it boasted a ride-by-wire throttle. The throttle enabled an advanced electronic system – MCN continued, “it’s a very clever motorcycle and very, very good.”

This example is VIN: ZDMH802JACB008982. It came to Iconic as an import from Japan; prior history is not known.

Please Note: True mileage is unknown. Based on the most recent Japanese vehicle inspection (Shaken), it appears that the mileage before the dash was replaced was 7,120 kilometers (4,424 miles). We do not know why the dash was replaced. The odometer currently shows 593 kilometers (368 miles).
