The Swiss watchmaker Tissot has been the Official Timekeeper of MotoGP since 2001, monitoring riders with 1/1000th of a second precision. They’ve made annual Limited Edition watches to celebrate as much, and today we have for you an example from the 2014 run.
Here’s what Tissot had to say in their certificate of authenticity:
“The Tissot T-Race MotoGP Limited Edition 2014 shows all the signs of the great synergy between Tissot and MotoGP. Black and red, it bears the colors of MotoGP and of Tissot, showing their dynamism and the fiery passion that they both carry. Furthermore, it has the precision that the Official Timekeeper provides during the exhilarating races, as motorbikes are separated by only thousandths of a second at the finish line, and the one that the racers themselves demonstrate on the track. The TISSOT T-RACE MotoGP LIMITED EDITION 2014 comes in a helmet presentation box, worthy of the collector’s item that it is. There are only 8’888 of these watches. So you better get a head start if you are hoping to get a grip on one of them.”
This example features a 45mm case with a sapphire crystal, a carbon fiber dial, a quartz chronograph movement, and a unidirectional GMT bezel. Per the seller, it is currently sized to fit wrists up to 7.7 inches in diameter.
It is number 125/8,888. The seller (FJ watches) has worked with Iconic Motorbikes on a number of watch sales.
The sale includes the certificate of authenticity, original purchase receipt, and Tissot warranty card.
Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller reports that “the watch is in great condition with almost no wear marks. It has a new battery and gasket, so it’s ready to go!”
