Iconic is doing some spring cleaning, so we’re offering up a few lots with no reserve. This one is for a set of Yamaha R7 bodywork that we were told came off of Anthony Gobert’s Yamaha R7 raced in AMA Superbike.

The oldest of the Gobert brothers (in addition to Alex and Aaron), Anthony was a successful motorcycle racer who competed in MotoGP, WSBK, British Superbike, and AMA Superbike. In 1994 at the age of 19, he became the youngest ever WSBK race winner from pole, a record he still holds today. He was affectionately known as “The Go Show.” For the 2001 AMA season, Yamaha signed up Anthony to race the R6 in Supersport and the R7 in Superbike – Anthony had experience with the R7 as he had recently campaigned a Team Virgin R7 in British Superbike. Anthony would end up racing the R7 in 2001 and 2002.

This bodywork set was traded to us – we were debating using it in a Gobert-inspired R7 build, however we need the space and we’d love to see someone else make it happen!

The previous owner used it on one of his bikes – he cut holes for frame sliders and swapped the numbers from Gobert’s #16 to his own #95.

The bodywork was built by Sharkskinz.

The sale includes the front fairing, tail, and two gas tanks.
