Description

Please note: The seller is managing the sale of this collection on behalf of the owner’s estate. He has represented each bike to the best of his ability and will be unable to provide further history or supporting documentation. The bike does not currently run and the seller cannot confirm mechanical condition. He has provided a walk around video and is selling the bike as-is. A local dealership will be providing the Bill of Sale; all fees (with the exception of Iconic’s buyer’s fee) and taxes will be accounted for by the dealer.

The Honda CB77, also known as the the Super Hawk, has the glorious distinction of being Honda’s first sportbike. In certain ways, it set the template for the next 20 years of motorcycles thanks to a lovely pairing of speed and reliability. It would also lead to several future classic Honda’s like the Black Bomber (CB450) and the ubiquitous CB750.

In fact, some argue the release of the Super Hawk was the beginning of the end of British motorcycling supremacy, despite their significantly larger engines.

The 305cc engine had dual carbs, helping it produce 28 horsepower. You got an electric/kick start, steel-tube frame, and a top speed of around 100 miles per hour. A little factoid for you – a red CB77 Super Hawk was the mount of Robert Pirsig when he took the trip that was documented in the classic book, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. For more on the Superhawk, check out this website dedicated to the model.

This example is VIN: CB771013205; Engine: CB77E1013109.

The odometer shows 15,155 miles, however the seller cannot confirm accuracy.

Maintenance:
The seller states, “Not running. The bike has been a display piece for many years and is not in current running condition. Tank has rust but not to bad, but does not have fuel in it. Motor turns over with compression.”

Modifications:
Per the seller, “It is unknown if there were any modifications that were performed by previous or current ownership.”

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Cheng Shin tires.

There are no keys or supporting documentation.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
