Don Vesco was a prolific name in the motorcycling world for several decades. On top of being a (US) Grand Prix winner, drag, and dirt-track Racer, he set well over a dozen landspeed records and ran a successful California-based motorcycle dealership. Vesco also famously sold a bevy of moto parts and accessories under the Don Vesco Products banner.
Not unlike Craig Vetter, Vesco was renowned for his slippery, low-drag coefficient-enabling bodywork. The California native produced fairings, fenders, belly-pans and tail-sections for a myriad of makes and models, including both track-oriented pieces as well as touring-focused bodywork. Though Vesco sadly succumbed to cancer in December of 2002 — not before being inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame — his bodywork is still available today through a number of outfits (like AirTech Streamlining) who have Vesco’s molds.
Last year, Abhi bought a BMW R100CS Last Edition that was equipped with a Don Vesco Rabid Transit Fairing that he was not interested in. Note that the headlight and turn signals do work:
The bike also came with the original fairing, so Abhi wheeled the bike into Iconic’s shop and took the old fairing off. Here’s what the bike looks like now, if you’re curious.
Months later, and the fairing is still here. He doesn’t want to see it anymore, so he’s offering it up for no reserve. The proceeds will go towards some manscaping (now we get to see if people are actually reading the listings).
The sale includes the fairing, windshield, headlight, and mounting brackets (which go on the forks).
The windshield is a Gustaffson Plastics unit.
Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this fairing is offered on a Bill of Sale only. Have any questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
