Ben Spies began racing AMA at 15 years old with American Suzuki in 2000. After getting his feet wet and taking a season-best 5th place, he improved on his efforts with four podium finishes and a win at Pikes Peak the next year. His turnaround was enough to garner attention of the Attack team, earning him a spot in the Formula Xtreme Championship.
Riding alongside Jason Pridmore in 2001, Spies managed to secure a trio of top fives in the Supersport class and a further four top-five finishes in Formula Xtreme. When he rejoined American Suzuki the following year, he bettered his Formula Xtreme performance, taking five wins and two podiums to secure the overall championship title.
Come 2006, Ben Spies joined Yoshimura Suzuki. He kicked off his tenure by taking the AMA Superbike Championship, amassing 10 wins and seven additional podium finishes. The following year, he defended his title, winning the Championship over Matt Mladin by a single point. In 2008, he became the fourth rider in AMA Superbike history to win three consecutive titles. As if that wasn’t enough, he moved to the World Superbike Championship for 2009, taking the series outright in his rookie season.
The seller acquired the helmet new. It is a size large.
It has been signed by Ben Spies. The seller states that “the helmet was signed at a Dealer Only Meet & Greet.”
