We’re huge Honda fans here at Iconic, and they obviously race more than motorcycles. One of their 4-wheeled exploits was in the 2016 Red Bull Global Rallycross Series, in which they campaigned a 2016 Honda Civic Coupe that was wildly modified by Olsbergs MSE and Honda Performance Development to put out 600 horsepower (good for a 0-60 time of 1.9 seconds) and handle 70 foot table-top jumps.
“Global Rallycross is seriously extreme racing, and it’s a terrific platform to showcase the new Civic Coupe to an enthusiastic, performance-minded young audience,” said Nick Lee, National Advertising Manager, American Honda Motor Co, Inc. “We won’t encourage our customers to take 70-foot jumps out on the street, but we will use this platform to tell people about all the incredible technology and performance capabilities of our new Civic Coupe.”
The drivers for the 2016 season were Sebastian Eriksson and Joni Wiman – the former placed second in 2015 and the latter won the 2015 season.
This auction is for a hood from Honda’s Global RallyCross race car which has been signed by Eriksson, Wiman, and the rest of the GRC team.
The hood was built by Avitaş Kompozit Plastik of Istanbul, Turkey and the dimensions are approximately 66″ wide by 46″ tall.
It has not been cleaned since the last race and still shows several rock chips/signs of racing.
It is equipped with the mounting brackets.
The seller is a local client who is letting this go as he is moving out of state – he recently auctioned off a Honda neon sign with us as well. Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this hood is offered on a Bill of Sale only. Have any questions about this listing?
