Our buddy Kevin Erion has opened up his private stash of leathers, and we’ll be selling a few suits from some of your favorite Honda riders! Here’s a suit worn by John Kocinski.

John Kocinski had an incredible career racing motorcycles – he started strong by riding for Yamaha at the age of 17 and winning three straight AMA 250cc GP championships in a row between 1987 and 1989. In addition, he won the 1989 600 Supersport race at Daytona.

Kocinski represented America very well on the international stage, winning the 250cc World GP Championship for Team Roberts with six pole positions and seven wins – on tracks he was competing on for the first time! He would go on to race in the 500cc World GP Championship as Wayne Rainey’s teammate, placing 4th overall in 1991 and 3rd overall in 1992. He also competed in the top tier of motorcycle road racing with Cagiva and Honda – bringing Cagiva their first dry-weather wins in that series with victories at the US GP in 1993 and the Australian GP in 1994. He placed 3rd overall in 1994, as well.

John competed in WSBK in 1996 and 1997 – the first year with Ducati (placing 3rd) and the second year with Honda on a RC45 (winning the championship).

He then went back to MotoGP, competing with privateer Honda teams in 1998 (Pons Racing) and 1999 (Kanemoto).

He retired from full-time racing in 2002, and in 2015 his incredible career was commemorated with his inclusion into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame.

We are unable to determine when John wore this suit. Do any of you Kocinski fans know?

This suit was made by Dainese.

Obviously, it has been crashed in.
