Our buddy Kevin Erion has opened up his private stash of leathers, and we’ll be selling a few suits from some of your favorite Erion Honda AMA riders! This suit was built for Larry Pegram.
Pegram started his career in flat track, and went on to have a lengthy career in AMA Superbike with five wins across three decades. As detailed in this AMA magazine interview, he was on track to get a factory ride with Honda but he was severely injured in a roadracing crash at Phoenix in 1993. “They thought I was damaged goods. Mike [his rival, Mike Hale] got a factory ride with Honda, and I ended up riding for Erion Racing and then moving up to Fast By Ferracci.” Larry competed with Erion Racing in 1995.
This suit appears to be from that 1995 season, as it matches this photo taken by Peter Potter of Larry at Mid-Ohio while competing in AMA SuperTeams.
The suit was made by AGV Sport, and it looks to have been barely ridden in, if at all.
