Iconic is doing some spring cleaning, so we’re offering up a few lots with no reserve. This one is for a frame and bodywork from one of Roger Lee Hayden’s race bikes with Kawasaki.
Kawasaki entered AMA Superbike racing in 2006, and one of the riders they chose to lead their effort was Roger Lee Hayden. Roger had five to-ten finishes that year, however he finished 17th overall due to an injury. His skills did not go unnoticed, however, and he was voted Rookie of the Year. In 2007 he won Supersport and finished 8th overall in Superbikes.
We acquired this bodywork and frame with the intent of building a track bike/rolling tribute to Roger Lee, however we haven’t had the time and we need the space.
Note the modified headstock designed to provide adjustable steering rake.
This example is VIN: JKAZXCD146A061527.
We believe (but cannot 100% confirm) that this is from his 2007 season – note the similarity to this photo.
