The GSX-R 400 was originally launched in Japan in 1984 with the GK71 model, featuring a liquid-cooled inline four cylinder engine with DOHC, four valves per cylinder and close to 60 hp. Lighter than its rivals (under 350 lbs wet), the aluminum framed Suzuki became a hit with its excellent handling, more-than-adequate brakes, and a race-derived heritage.
Suzuki debuted the GK73 four years later, and it featured new styling, a new twin-spar frame, new exhaust, slingshot carbs, curved radiator, polished chrome silencers, and upgraded front calipers.
This example is VIN: GK73A110304. The seller acquired it from the UK five years ago as a project but has not had the time to restore it.
The odometer shows 25,533 kilometers (15,865 miles).
It does not run and will need a recommissioning (typically includes new tires, battery, carb clean, etc).
Modifications:
Pirelli Diablo tires from 2011, wave rotors.
Carbon fiber stickers on airbox.
Aftermarket turn signals, red windshield mounting bolts.
Aftermarket grips and adjustable levers.
Currently located in Swansea, Massachusetts (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Suzuki is offered on a Bill of Sale only. Our White Glove Service can help source a US title. Have any GSX-R400 stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
