The Swiss watchmaker Tissot has been the Official Timekeeper of MotoGP since 2001, monitoring riders with 1/1000th of a second precision. They’ve made annual Limited Edition watches to celebrate as much, and today we have for you an example from the 2007 run.
Here’s what Tissot hade to say in their certificate of authenticity: “The constant search for innovation is particularly noticeable this year, with a bright red structured rubber bracelet and stylized brake-disk bezel with carbon fiber dial, make this year’s MotoGP limited edition a timepiece to look out for. The case-back is engraved with the official MotoGP logo as well as the limited edition number. The watch is presented in a special helmet box in the same matching red with the 2007 MotoGP circuits displayed around the watch. The 18 circuits are engraved on the medallions which can be interchanged on the case-back of the watch, using a specially designed tool, provided with each watch purchased, which allows the watch to remain perfectly water resistant.”
Set against a red rubber strap and measuring 43.5mm diameter, the case comprises a mix of carbon composite and stainless steel. A bidrectional stainless steel bezel bears a tachymeter — typical of racing chronographs — while the black and white dial is highlighted by luminous super Luminova hands and bar hour and minute markers.
This example Ref. T011.417.17.202.00. It is #3297/7002.
The sale includes the helmet box, track medallions, and all of the assorted paperwork.
Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
Please note: The clasp and track medallions still bear their protective film.
