In 2017, Framecrafters Inc. kicked off a four build series where the Union, Illinois-based shop constructed bespoke framework to accommodate Yamaha Banshee 350 engines—with the ultimate goal of delivering two-stroke-powered supermoto bikes.
The fourth and final build in the series, this example was built over the course of two years at a reported cost of over $30,000. The custom motard is constructed around a 2003 Yamaha YZ450F chassis that was extensively modified in order to house a Banshee ATV engine. Integrated pipe guards are designed to be removed if desired via 3 fasteners per side. All tubing used in the fabrication is 4130 chromoly that’s been mandrel bent and TIG welded. The YZ450F’s swingarm was also reinforced and a WR450F subframe was bolted to the main frame. All framework was powder-coated, with the subframe and swingarm finished in satin black and the main frame and pipe guards cloaked in bronze.
The Banshee’s liquid-cooled 347cc two-stroke parallel-twin was given to Tony Doukas Racing in Florida which proceeded to massage and upgrade the mill. The engine received a 421 Cheetah-cub kit, a larger Hot Rod crankshaft, 68mm Wiseco pistons, Mikuni TM34 carbs, a six-speed RZ350 gearbox, modified CPI big bore pipes culminating in custom FC stingers with TZ Mike carbon silencers, a USA custom oversize radiators and hose kit, a Zeeltronic ignition with a three-position map selector, a Ricky stator, and new OEM seals and gaskets throughout. Chariot also provided a new intake with a V Force cage, a new head, a modified and vented timing cover, and a Chariot x Tony Doukas Racing clutch. The entire build tips the scales at just over 270lbs and—according to the seller—is reportedly estimated to make 95 horsepower.
The YFZ350-powered supermoto project was also treated to forks off of a 2006 YZ450F that were rebuilt, fitted with new springs, and shortened by 55mm, before being slotted in black powder-coated billet triple clamps. The aft end of the machine features a custom built shock from a 2010 YZ450F and paired with a rebuilt linkage and rocker off of a 2003 donor.
The build rides on ten-spoke Marchesini forged aluminum wheels (17 x 3.5 front, 17×5.5 rear) wrapped in Michelin Pilot rubber. Bringing the bike to a stop is a billet Brembo caliper chomping down on a 320mm BrakeTech rotor out front, and a OEM (Nissin) unit out back. Both units run black stainless steel braided lines. The bike was also fitted with an EK MXR-3D 520 chain with custom chain sliders, a 40-tooth aluminum Vortex rear sprocket, and a PBI 17-tooth front sprocket.
The custom frame has been adorned in Acerbis bodywork wearing a custom Senge graphics kit. Rounding out the build is a set of SW-Motech hand guards with integrated LED indicators, a 2.8-gallon Clarke fuel tank with a Pingle petcock with reserve, an Acerbis Vision HP headlight, an LED taillight set on a custom mounting plate, Yamaha Factory titanium motard pegs, a Renthal Fat Bar set on billet mounts, a digital Koso DB-03R multifunction display, a new (2026) AGM battery, and carbon fiber frame guards, caliper and rotor guards, and fork guards all from the GYTR and Lightspeed catalogs. Alongside a slew of titanium fasteners, Framecrafters also added a custom in-house aluminum skid plate, wiring harness, a custom rear brake lever, and an aluminum side stand.
From the seller: “After owning it for 9 years, there is not much I would change about it. This machine does not like to putter. It’s built to be pushed and spun to the upper limits where its true potential is realized and delivered. Occasional use on back roads has kept the mileage and hours on this build extremely low.”
Completed in 2020 and spending the majority of its life on display, this bike is DOT registered and titled as a 2003 Yamaha YZ450F. This example is VIN: JYACJ03C43A005826. Because the frame was powder-coated, it’s difficult to see in photos.

According to the seller, there are 2.4 hours of documented run time on the display, and the build’s total mileage sits at around 100 miles.
