In the late 70s, a company named Sunward International built a promotional minibike to emulate Yamaha’s speedblock-liveried GP racers. It’s incredibly difficult to find the history of these rare two-wheelers, which is why they’re often referred to as the YSR30, YZF30, or the YZR-30SX.

On this Pocketbike Planet thread, someone translated a German information sheet which mentions that it was helpful for kids to learn how a motorcycle works: “this bike is basically a physics lesson on wheels, only way cooler.” Amen to that!

It’s powered by a 31.7cc two-stroke engine with a pull starter.

There’s one brake – a disc in the rear which uses mineral oil for hydraulic pressure.

There is minor corrosion on the metal parts and a few scratches in the bodywork.

Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this baby Yamaha is offered on a Bill of Sale only. Have any questions about this listing? Let us know in the comments!
