Founded by Hideo “Pops” Yoshimura in 1954, Yoshimura has been synonymous with extra power and a racing edge for decades – especially after they came to the US in 1971 with instant success in the first AMA Superbike series in 1976. Though the brand has officially worked with several manufacturers over the years, they are best known for their work with Suzuki and special models like the TL1000R.
The RS-3 has been a member of Yoshimura’s exhaust product line for years and is one of their signature models. The classic oval sleeve design is typically offered in a variety of materials, but today we’ve got a special example that is full titanium with carbon fiber hangers.
This was built for closed course competition only.
The seller of this exhaust is our very own Adam – he acquired it as part of a package deal from an estate that had multiple Yoshimura-built TL-R motors and special parts and started to build a Yoshimura tribute but as you may have seen on social media, he is parting it out and sending some pieces to Iconic Motorbikes New Zealand for Red to create a bike.
Knowing that the bike was so important to Adam, our friends over at Yoshimura repacked and resleeved the cans for him roughly six years ago. The exhaust has not been used since.
This exhaust was likely sold new as part of a race kit.
