Additional photos of this 1994 Yamaha TZM150 are available here for your perusal.
In the early 1990s, Malaysian roads were dominated by small 2-stroke single-cylinder motorcycles.
Most of the bikes were 125s, but Kawasaki was the first to push into 150ccs. Yamaha quickly responded with the TZM150, which featured technology from their bigger bikes like the Deltabox frame, YPVS (Yamaha Power Valve System) and YCLS (Yamaha Computerized Lubricant System) oil injection system.
Unlike the competition, the TZM came with full fairings and tubeless tires.
Yamaha claimed 36 horsepower and they marketed the bike in Malaysia as a “Highway Star.”
This example is VIN: 4AP081950.
The odometer shows 13,978 kilometers (8,685 miles).
This is one of the bikes that came to us out of a collection in South Africa, though we presume it was originally sold in Malaysia.
In preparation for the listing, we rebuilt the forks, installed new rear brake pads, flushed the oil and coolant, and installed Michelin Pilot Street 2 90/80-17 tires with date codes of 4420 and 0121.
Modifications:
Aftermarket tank protector.
Blue windshield mounting bolts.
Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
Inside of the tank:
The sale includes two ignition/tank keys and one for the seat as well as an aftermarket decal set.
