Click here for an VINData Motorcycle History Report on this 1998 Yamaha YZF750R. Additional photos are available here for your perusal.
Introduced in 1993, the Yamaha YZF750R spent its time in the shadow of the Honda CBR900RR and the Ducati 916, however “it was the best everyday 750cc sportsbike of the 1990s“ as well as Sport Rider Magazine’s 1995 Bike of the Year.
Yamaha had already gone with the racebike-for-the-road route with the recent OW-01, so this follow-up 750 was a road bike first – racers had the option of a homologation version dubbed the SP. Per the above Carole Nash review: “Unlike the Ducati 916 and Honda RC45 against which it competed on track, the Yam was a bike of the people. With a claimed 125bhp, on tap it was more powerful than anything else in the class – including the aforementioned Ducati and FireBlade – when it was launched.”
Manufactured October 1997, this example is VIN: JYA4LEE05WA006826. The seller purchased the bike from a friend in Colorado five years ago.
During her ownership the seller has covered approximately 2,000 miles. The odometer shows 34,280 miles miles.
