After the legendary 1994 RC45, Honda took a lengthy break from producing a limited-production special for the US market. In fact, it took two decades before Honda would try something similar – the Honda CBR1000RR SP.

Honda built 5,000 units to sell worldwide, only a few hundred of which came to America. For an additional $2,700, riders were rewarded with a tremendous amount of upgrades including 43mm Öhlins NIX30 forks (fully adjustable), Öhlins TTX shock (fully adjustable), and Brembo front brakes with four-piston monobloc calipers.

In 2014 CBR engine was already improved from previous years with a revised cylinder head, but the SP version was blueprinted with “handpicked pistons and connecting rods.” Setting off all of the upgrades was the SP-specific livery in the HRC colors of red, white, and blue. Miguel Duhamel summed up this bike by saying, “It’s not a bike that Honda just stamped SP on and have given a different paint job. There are definitely significant differences between the two. I love that little extra wink and smile that you get with the SP.”

In 2017 Honda celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Fireblade. In light of this they reworked the bodystyle and added some modern features such a throttle by wire and traction control systems with selectable ride modes for the first time. Then in 2019 Honda separated the traction system from the wheelie control system, also offering a three-position ‘W’ setting, alongside the Power, Engine Braking and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) traction settings.

Manufactured in March 2019 this example is VIN: JH2SC7776KK200195. The seller purchased the bike approximately 4 and a half years ago.

The odometer shows 2,687 miles. The seller has covered approximately 200 miles during his ownership.
