Click here for an VINData Motorcycle History Report on this 1983 Triumph T140W TSS.

Released in March of 1982, the Triumph TSS was the last model produced by the Triumph Meriden factory before its closure in 1983 and demolition in 1984. The bike was well received by the British press and Triumph had the goal of producing 500 in total. However, official numbers put the count at 438, of which only 112 made their way across the pond.

To cut down on vibration, Triumph promoted it’s new “Enforcer Frame” utilizing rubber mounts which they developed in conjunction with the British Police Force. Powering the bike was a 749cc air-cooled, parallel twin featuring 4 valves per cylinder. U.K. models came outfitted with Amal carbs whereas the U.S. bikes received Bing carbs. The seller purchased the bike in May of 1995 from Randy Baxter of Baxter Cycle, Marne, Iowa, and notes, “My father has been a Triumph rider from the 1960s and began collecting in 1982, seeking out his first 1965 T120 Bonneville. Shortly after realizing Triumph had closed, he started his collection. This was bought as a collector bike due to being one 112 sent to USA at the close of Meriden Works Factory, England. Has been kept in climate-controlled garage since acquiring.”

During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 30 miles. The odometer shows 3,411 miles.
