The 1198S was a phenomenal machine – MCN called it “one of the best V-twins ever made” and “truly one of those motorcycles that everybody should be allowed to ride once in their life.” For those of you that want a dash of exclusivity, Ducati produced a special cosmetic package called the Corse between 2009 and 2011.

It differed from the base (a relative term when it comes to these machines) trim with an aluminum tank and a special paint job on the top of the 170 horsepower, Ohlins suspension, and traction control that the standard 1198S offered up. In many ways, it was a more streetable sibling to the 1198R Corse.

This is #333 of the limited production line.

This example is VIN: ZDM1XBLW7AB028545. The seller bought it from a private party at the end of 2023. “We were both involved with the Phoenix Ducati Club when I used to live in Arizona.

During his ownership, the seller covered roughly 150 miles. The odometer shows 3,929 miles.

“It is the best Ducati I have ever owned, better than the 2011 Streetfighter V4S, and I would not even consider taking girls for rides. One, because it is an impeccable machine that exemplifies the pinnacle of ICE motorcycle engineering at its time, and two, the girl would just be extra weight.” The owner is selling this bike as “it does not get ridden as I have 3 other motorcycles, and 2 of which are vintage CB750 project bikes. I feel guilty that it is not being enjoyed, hence loved properly, just sitting in my garage.”

Maintenance:
“It was thoroughly serviced last year by APEX Reparto in Houston, a notable Ducati and MV Agusta shop trusted by Houston Ducati Club.” The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues.
Modifications:
Quick shifter added by APEX Reparto, battery tender.

It is riding on Dunlop Sportmax Q5 tires with date codes of 3522 and 0423.

The sale includes one key, the owner’s manual, and the Ducati Data Analyzer.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album in the “Photos” tab for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
