The 1198S was a phenomenal machine – MCN called it “one of the best V-twins ever made” and “truly one of those motorcycles that everybody should be allowed to ride once in their life.” For those of you that want a dash of exclusivity, Ducati produced a special cosmetic package called the Corse between 2009 and 2011.
It differed from the base (a relative term when it comes to these machines) trim with an aluminum tank and a special paint job on the top of the 170 horsepower, Ohlins suspension, and traction control that the standard 1198S offered up. In many ways, it was a more streetable sibling to the 1198R Corse.
This is #003 of the limited production line.
This example is VIN: ZDM1XBLW6AB027631. The seller acquired it four months from an auction on Bring a Trailer.
During his ownership, the seller kept the bike on display in his office and did not put any miles on it. The odometer shows 530 miles.
Maintenance:
The seller has not performed any maintenance. He states that the belts were last replaced in December 2024 and that there are no mechanical issues.
Modifications:
Battery tender lead.
Inside of the tank:
It is riding on Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tires with date codes of 0924 and 3624.
The sale includes two keys, the code card, and the owner’s manual.
Cosmetic Blemishes: The seller notes a “very minor scratch on the gas tank.”
Currently located in San Antonio, Texas, this Ducati is offered on a clean California title, which is still in the previous owners name, and with registration current through November 2025.
