Retro-inspired modern classics seem to be all the rage right now, but a few companies were well-ahead of the game. One of the most notable efforts was the Kawasaki ZRX1200R – Cycle World called it “a replica of a replica“, as it was designed to make you think of the iconic 1982 Eddie Lawson Replica.
The 1,164cc DOHC liquid-cooled engine produced 123 horsepower, good for a top speed of over 120 mph. It’s fun but also comfortable if you’re the kind of person that wants to ride for hours at a time.
It was available in silver, red, blue, and of course: Kawi Green.
Manufactured in September of 2004, this example is VIN: JKAZR9A195A039383, Engine #: ZRT20AE026869. The seller acquired it six months ago from “a close friend” who was the original owner.
During his ownership, the seller has covered 200 miles. The odometer shows 30,582 miles.
He is unfortunately selling it due to injuries that prevent him from riding. “I have owned and loved ZRXs since they came out (7 in total). When my friend Joe wanted to sell this one, it was a no-brainer, as I was involved and aware of the first-rate upgrades and meticulous maintenance/care.”
