The Griso launched in 2005 as a unique muscle bike. Over the coming years, it fit into a distinct category competing with bikes such as Ducati’s Diavel, HD’s V-Rod, and Suzuki’s B-King – the Griso was the most affordable option.

2009 saw the appearance of the Quattrovalvole (four valve per cylinder) 1151cc 90-degree V-twin. It became the first Moto Guzzi to house that engine which pumped out a claimed 110 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and a healthy 79 ft-lbs of torque at 6,400 rpm.

The Special Edition became a standard option in 2013 and differed from the base bike with a fancy paint job, some blacked-out parts, and spoked wheels. Mechanically, you also got adjustable suspension, and giant Brembo brakes – this bike was an interesting balance between the style of a custom with the components of a sportbike.

These are rare sights on the road, and they’re solid all-arounders that are dripping with exclusivity. As the wonderful Kevin Ash (RIP) once said in an article for BikeEXIF: “…the bike whose looks do the most for me is the Guzzi Griso, sweeping and elegant on the left, overtly mechanical and rugged on the right.”

Manufactured in October of 2014, this example is VIN: ZGULSU020FM200312.

The odometer shows 8,243 miles.
