This listing is for four AGV production Rossi tribute helmets that the seller has been using as “garage art.” They are being listed as a set.
The helmets are:
1. AGV Pista GP R Valentino Rossi Project 46 2.0

This livery pays tribute to Rossi’s involvement with the initial design of the Pista, They initially called the prototype helmet the “Project 46” as the shape was built around Rossi’s head (including a biometric scan of his skull shape). The Italian firm also flirted with a program called “AGV Standards” which teased the idea of offering similar individualization to the public though that hasn’t made it to production…yet.
Rossi has used the Tartaruga (Italian for “turtle”) in many of his helmet designs over the years but in 2013 it took a special meaning. Per Cycle World, “When he was a youngster, Valentino’s mother gave him a toy turtle that he mounted on his helmet. The plaything is long gone, but a small turtle icon has regularly appeared on his helmets ever since; he even has the character tattooed on his hip.
For Mugello 2013, the turtle got a much more prominent placement, as Rossi poked fun at an early-season performance that hadn’t met his own excellent standards. The design also includes Rossi’s familiar bulldogs Cesare and Cecilia (this time wearing turtle shells), along with a miniature figure of Rossi pursuing his top competitors.”
3. AGV K1 2015 Mugello Yellow Energy Mirror

AGV said, “During a typical race weekend, ‘The Doctor’s’ energy level steadily rises until attaining its peak in time for Sunday’s race. To represent this phenomenon, the rear of his 2015 Mugello helmet reflects six different energy levels, beginning with the bright red of the first free practice and advancing session by session to the maximum level—Vale’s signature yellow—just in time for him to line up on the starting grid.

On its right side, the helmet features the Italian words Energia Rinnovabile (“Renewable Energy”), along with a “recycling” icon surrounding Rossi’s No. 46. The helmet’s left side displays the words “Yellow Energy” and the paw-prints of Valentino’s pets—dogs Cesare and Camilla, and cat Rossano. The chin guard provides an additional energy boost through blue solar panels.”

Inspired by the “Dreamtime” of Australian Aboriginal mythology, this livery was first used by Valentino during a Winter Test at Philip Island in 2007 – he then kept it for the 2008 season. AGV originally used it on their GP-Tech helmet but the stylish design has remained popular and the Italian company has sued brought it back on multiple helmets – including the current K1 S.
Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album in the “Photos” tab for all known cosmetic blemishes. The seller states “the only one is the shield on the Dreamline helmet, the anti fog coating has started to peel.”
Currently located in Tucson, Arizona, these helmets are offered on a Bill of Sale only. Have any AGV stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
