When it was released, the VF1000R was a bit of a revelation: it was Honda’s flagship, designed to showcase what the Japanese firm was capable of. It was also a huge tease to US riders, because it was initially only released in Europe only – America got the VF1000F instead, which was designed to be more of a touring bike.

The R was Honda’s first road bike to benefit from gear-driven cams and came decked out in fully faired, racer replica bodywork with rearset footpegs and adjustable clip-on handlebars for a more racer-ready riding position.

This example is VIN: SC162000636. The seller acquired it from a private party through an Iconic Motorbikes auction in August 2023.

The odometer shows 10,458 kilometers (6,498 miles).

The seller is letting go of a few bikes from his milestone Honda collection, including this 2014 Honda CB1100 With Whitehouse Kit. This VF1000R was imported to the US from South Africa around 2022, prior history is not known however it does have a frame sticker in French:
