First introduced in 1994, the Speed Triple helped define the modern factory streetfighter. Nearly three decades later, Triumph pushed the model into the “super naked” category with the Speed Triple 1200 RS. For 2025, Triumph revised the 1,160cc three cylinder platform with a small increase in power and torque, while also introducing new lighter cast aluminum wheels and semi-active Öhlins suspension.
The headline change for 2025 is the Öhlins Smart EC3 semi-active suspension system. The system works with Triumph’s ‘Objective-Based Tuning Interface’, allowing the rider to adjust suspension behavior according to braking, acceleration, cornering, and cruising conditions. The revised chassis is comes with Brembo brakes and a six speed transmission with slip and assist clutch, and bidirectional quickshifter.
The RS also features multiple riding modes, cornering ABS, switchable traction control, wheelie control, cruise control, and a five inch color TFT display with smartphone connectivity. Upright ergonomics and a compact naked bike profile retain the fundamental character of the Speed Triple, while the 2025 revisions add lighter wheels and electronically controlled suspension to the already well loved package.

“I have multiple Triumphs, in fact this is my 6th Speed Triple as they are truly incredible and likely the best all around sport bike on the market. It’s safe to say I’m a major Triumph fan boy. However, there are far too many exciting motorcycles out there to try and I’d like to explore others for the time being. I will likely end up back on another Speed Triple someday soon enough. The game changing stand out feature of the 2025+ Speed Triple is the new version of the semi-active Ohlins suspension. Maintenance:
The seller states: “This motorcycle is quite new and is barely broken in. The first service was completed with OEM Triumph synthetic oil and filter with the chain cleaned and lubricated many times within its short 1,662 mile life. It remains on a battery tender for use specifically with lithium ion batteries at all times and resides in my house in the A/C. After every ride it is wiped down spotless and coated with ceramic coating, polished.”
Mechanical Issues:
The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues. “Far too few miles and too new to have any issues.”
