Introduced to the American market in 1959, the Honda Dream helped establish the company as a major force in the U.S. motorcycle industry. Sold in 250cc and 305cc forms, the Dream was designed to appeal to riders beyond the traditional motorcycle market, combining approachability and Honda’s reputation for practical engineering. The CA77 Dream was powered by a 305cc air cooled parallel twin engine featuring a chain driven overhead camshaft, electric starter, four speed transmission, and enclosed final drive.
The Dream’s styling was unlike that of most motorcycles of its era, with angular bodywork, a chrome sided fuel tank, fully enclosed chain, covered battery and toolbox, and deeply valanced fenders. Its pressed steel frame and fork assembly incorporated leading link front suspension, while hydraulic rear shock absorbers, spoke wheels, and substantial chrome exhausts completed the period specific design.
The Dream has become an increasingly collectible Japanese classic. Good surviving examples are sought after for their distinctive appearance and their role in establishing the foundation for Honda’s later success in the motorcycle market.

The owner, who recently passed away, was an avid vintage motorcycle enthusiast who spent his retirement years restoring vintage Hondas of his youth. “he worked on his motorcycles daily, preferring his classics over his modern bikes.” Iconic will be helping his family find new homes for his collection.
