Description

Please note that the rattling noise is the middle of the video is from the camera being taken off the tripod, not anything to do with the motorcycles:

Additional photos of this Yamaha RD250 are available here for your perusal.

Introduced in 1973 (and produced through 1987), the RD250 was a popular option for youngsters who wanted fun and a little attitude at a reasonable price. The ’75 model had revised cylinder heads and gear ratios, and it was the last year of the original styling before the coffin tank and speed block liveries came into play in 1976.

Here’s an entertaining take on “what the fuss was about” with the RD250 by Marc Ryan of Biker and Bike. He notes, “They were loud, annoying, brightly coloured and dangerous and old people complained about them. That was enough for us. We were helplessly in love from first sight. To own an RD and ride it like a dick was to be the coolest kid on the estate and became every spotty kid’s dream.”

This example is VIN: 352305310. The seller acquired it three years ago from a colleague in his car club. “The bike lived in his garage for decades.”

It was originally sold by Milwaukie Yamaha. “The bike has been in Oregon its entire life.”

During his ownership, the seller has covered 300 miles. The odometer shows 6,198 miles.

Maintenance:
Currently in excellent running condition, it started on the first kick after being carefully stored for the off-season. Carburetors cleaned and tuned. No other maintenance has been required.

The prior owner said that the tank was repainted at some point but it looks exactly as it should and matches the side covers perfectly.

The seat cover was professionally replaced about two-years ago with the correct design for the year and model.

The tires look great but are aged-out. I’ve ridden it several times on these tires without incident or worry..”

Modifications:
Per the seller, this bike is completely stock.

Cosmetic Blemishes:
There is scuffing on the bottom of the RH muffler. You don’t see it standing next to it, it’s low on the muffler but there nonetheless.”

The sale includes the tool kit.

Currently located in Tigard, Oregon, this Yamaha is offered on a clean Oregon title.
