In 1982, Kawasaki introduced a middleweight to the GPz family between the 550 and the 1100 (a couple of years later, the 900 would also be released).

The styling was right in line with the rest of the GPz series. Basic specifications included approximately 80 horsepower and a curb weight of just over 500 pounds – 50 pounds lighter than the 75 horsepower Honda CB750F.

For more on the ’82 GPz, check out this article from Motorcycle Classics. They call it “the last — and probably the best — of Kawasaki’s air-cooled 750s.

This example (VIN: JKAKZDR14CA004031) was with the original owner until this year. The original owner had an accident that put a kink in the frame. He owned two ’82 GPz750s, and he swapped frames to keep this one going as it such low miles. “Every other nut and bolt is from the original bike.”

The odometer shows 6,374 miles.

The seller acquired it approximately a year ago, and had a few changes made. He’s a big fan of the Eddie Lawson livery found on the KZ1000R, so he had this GPz (originally in Firecracker Red) repainted six months ago.

The engine was leaking oil when he acquired it so he had all the seals in the engine replaced, as well as a new master cylinder gasket and new fork seals.

Lastly, he had it serviced and two new Dunlop D404 tires installed.

It is equipped with an aftermarket fork brace.

The sale includes the original owner’s manual and two factory brochures.

Currently located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, this GPz is offered on a clean South Carolina title.
