Description

Additional photos are available here for your perusal.

Produced from 1984 to 2003, the GPz900R was the first bike to bear the “Ninja” name – but not in every country!

A revolutionary design when it came out, some would argue that it was the predecessor of what we consider today to be a modern sport bike. It was the first 16 valve liquid cooled inline four, something the competition would take years to catch up on.

The engine produced 115 horsepower, good for a top speed of 151 miles per hour – it was the first production road bike to top 150. Nowadays these numbers might seem tame, but this bike was an instant legend when it was released.

The cameo in Top Gun didn’t hurt, either.

Manufactured in March of 1984, this example is VIN: JKAZX2A12EA007467. The seller purchased this motorcycle 23 years ago from a private party in California.

The odometer shows 50,022 miles. The seller has put 30,000 miles on this example.

Maintenance:
The seller states they have replaced the following:
Battery.
Brake and clutch master cylinder.
Water pump.
Alternator.
Thermostat.
Starter wheel bearings.
Chain and sprockets.
Fork seals and steering head bearings.
Drive insulators.
Chain tensioners and guides.

Modifications:
Yoshimura exhaust.

Professionally repainted bodywork. The seller states they wanted the motorcycle to be painted a flat red, and had no intentions of ever selling the bike.

Not pictured: K&N air filters and jet needle kit.

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Battlax BT45 tires that have aged out.

The sale includes three keys.
