Additional photos of this 1986 Honda VF1000R are available here for your perusal.

When it was released, the VF1000R was a bit of a revelation: it was Honda’s flagship, designed to showcase what the Japanese firm was capable of.

It was also a huge tease to US riders, because it was initially only released in Europe only – America got the VF1000F instead, which was designed to be more of a touring bike.

The R was Honda’s first road bike to benefit from gear-driven cams.

Manufactured in October of 1985, this example is VIN: JH2SC1600GM100543. The seller acquired it approximately four years ago.

The odometer shows 1 mile.

The seller is letting this go due to poor health – he’s had Iconic auction off several never-used motorcycles from his collection over the last few months, including:
1979 Suzuki GS1000S Wes Cooley Replica With 3 Miles
1987 Yamaha FZR750RT With 1.1 Miles
1989 Suzuki GSX-R750RK With 5 Miles
1990 Honda RC30 With 1 Mile
1994 Honda RC45 With Zero Miles
Modifications:
This motorcycle is said to be completely stock. With that said, the seller lost the original key so we had two replacements made.

Cosmetic Blemishes:
At some point a shipper caused damage to the right fairing, the paint, and both sides of the fork tubes/front fender. Our White Glove service can help make this bike look like new:

Inside of the tank:

Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Honda is offered on a clean Ohio title. Have any VF1000R stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
