The Yamaha YSR50 was the most common of the rare 50cc sportbikes that came from Japan in the late 80s and early 90s. An instant classic, the YSR50 was always street legal and always seems to put a smile on the face of riders and spectators.

Strong sales and strong aftermarket support has made the YSR a popular platform for a wide variety of custom builds, from dedicated road racers to wild experiments like a police bike or this drag bike with the engine from a Yamaha RZ350!

This example is VIN: JYA2RRA04JA017442. The seller acquired it from the builder six years ago in Chicago, Illinois. The frame has been powercoated and the VIN is not easily legible.

During his ownership, the seller has covered 1 mile. There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown.

“Bike ran low 11’s with the original builder and pilot who was 260 lbs. Won best paint at World of Wheels Chicago in 1992.”

Maintenance:
“Cleaned and sealed tank with Caswell.
Climate controlled storage.
Always on battery tender.
VP non ethanol race fuel and Klotz always used.
Nitrous bottle out of date.”
Mechanical Issues:
“Tires are aged and in need of replacement if new owner chooses to run in anger.”

Modifications:
RZ350 motor with head work.

WOT nitrous system with air shift.

YSR and RZ350 frames combined.

Fully custom bodywork with dzus fasteners.
