Description
Please note: This is part of the Greg Zydyk collection.
Please note: This bike is titled as a 1998. However, according to our research this bike was produced between February and May of 1996. We have seen this as a common error when bikes are imported from Japan they are titled in the year of first registration not the year of production. We also cannot confirm that this bike was an original Lucky Strike from Suzuki. It does have OEM bodywork and gas tank as well as the white powder coated wheels. From all appearances it is an original Lucky Strike but we cannot confirm this based on the VIN. Please comment below if you have any additional information to add.
Click here for an VINData Motorcycle History Report on this 1996 Suzuki RGV250 VJ23. Please note: VINData lists mileage at 10,000+, this is likely from reading the speedometer in kilometers and not converting to miles.
For the 1996 model year, Suzuki debuted the VJ23 generation with an all new engine that featured a 70 degree configuration of the V-twin, just like the factory race bikes. According to Suzuki UK, just 2,218 were built.
All of the VJ23s were the high-spec SP model (an upgrade in the previous generation), which got a dry clutch, close-ratio transmission, ram air intake, and larger carbs. Claimed hp for a de-restricted model was 70.
This example is VIN: VJ23A100526. The owner imported the bike 12 years ago.
During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 300 kilometers (186 miles). The odometer shows 10,957 kilometers (6,808 miles).

Currently located in Panorama City, California, this Suzuki is offered on a clean Ohio title. Please note that as an import, this bike lacks certain compliance and emissions stickers that the state of California would require to transfer a title. This bike is titled as a 1998. However, according to our research, this bike was produced between February and May of 1996. We have seen many Japanese imports titled as the year of first registration not the year of production and we believe this to be the case with this bike.
