Introduced in 1993, the Yamaha YZF750R spent its time in the shadow of the Honda CBR900RR and the Ducati 916, however “it was the best everyday 750cc sportsbike of the 1990s“ as well as Sport Rider Magazine’s 1995 Bike of the Year.

Yamaha had already gone with the racebike-for-the-road route with the recent OW-01, so this follow-up 750 was a road bike first – racers had the option of a homologation version dubbed the SP. Per the above Carole Nash review: “Unlike the Ducati 916 and Honda RC45 against which it competed on track, the Yam was a bike of the people. With a claimed 125bhp, on tap it was more powerful than anything else in the class – including the aforementioned Ducati and FireBlade – when it was launched.”

Manufactured in February 1995, this example is VIN: JYA4LEE06TA003249. The seller acquired this bike six months ago from a dealership in Texas.

The odometer shows 20,782 miles.

Maintenance:
“Fluids have been checked along with an inspection and test ride of the bike.” The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues.
Modifications:
Braided brake lines.

Aftermarket levers, aftermarket grips.

Swingarm spools, Vortex rear sprocket.

It is riding on Michelin tires with date codes of 4819 and 0420.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album in the “Photos” tab for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
